Our Process
Pre-production:
We collaborated closely with the TRC team in the lead-up to O-Week. Using Milanote, we created detailed visual references and shot lists to align our vision and help plan key moments across the week. This ensured coverage of high-priority scenes while remaining flexible enough to adapt to the unpredictable flow of orientation events.
We also coordinated timings to maximise natural light for key shots and adjusted our schedule to complement the resident experience without interfering.
Production:
Our team used a combination of:
Gimbal for smooth, cinematic movement
Handheld shots for an intimate, documentary-style feel
Drone footage for aerial campus visuals
Clear communication and collaboration with both TRC staff and resident advisors allowed us to work efficiently across multiple locations throughout the week. The energy and openness of the residents made filming a seamless experience.
Post-production:
We reviewed hours of footage to carefully select moments that best reflected the college’s identity: welcoming, inclusive, and vibrant.
In editing, we balanced visual storytelling with messaging, showcasing both the student lifestyle (events, culture, friendships) and physical spaces (facilities, rooms, dining hall).
The result is a polished video that helps future students visualise what life at TRC feels like.
